On the article Stormwater Fee Another Reason To Wave At Kamenetz

ReplyIt had better not show up on mine. ALL the rain water that runs off my roof and sidewalks drains to my back yard. There is no stream or river carrying the water to the bay and I have the soggy lawn that never dries out to prove it. My street has no storm drains. How can I be taxed for the water that runs from my property to the bay when NONE of the water falling on my property run into the bay? It's a bunch of BS to start with.

ReplyAnd the consequence is? Detention? Short of killing someone or making an administrator look foolish a student won't be suspended, at least not at my child's school. There's a story someone needs to investigate: The total lack of discipline in Baltimore County Public Schools--it's out of control.

ReplyThis program was in effect before Obama got into office (1985). It's no surprise that Marylanders are scamming the system. If they check welfare and every other "assistance" program they will find more people participating than could really be eligible. I for one an sick and tired of working my butt off to pay for other people to sit on theirs. Pay for their housing, phones, cable, internet, gas and electric. Yes, there are people who do need assistance but there are far more who are skilled at ripping off the system. It's time to evaluate every program and yes, do drug testing to qualify and to keep the handouts.

ReplyThere protesters are out of line. The property was purchased as a site for a school years ago. If they didn't want to live near a school they should have bought a place to live in a different area. The truth is, they want to keep their private little park which for some reason they believe they have a right to. Why would the school system purchase land if they didn't intend to, at some point in time, build a school on it?

ReplyI wouldn't be at all surprised to find that there was another car at the point where west bound 40 turns and crosses eastbound to get onto Martin Blvd. That area is very dangerous if you're not careful and paying close attention to the oncoming traffic.

ReplyWhat a load of crap. Stick it to the working class again. Where do I apply for my Independence Card for the gas pump so I can get to work everyday? Oh, that's right, I work--no handouts for me. Those are just for the lazy sit at home do nothings and the rich I wipe my butt with $20 bills. If anyone who voted for this tax increase is re-elected you get what you deserve. I didn't vote for any of them last time and won't in the next elections. I hope the Republicans can come up with a real candidate for 2014. I doubt they will, but I can still hope.

ReplyIf you're not afraid or ashamed to put your name on a referendum petition why should you care if your name is published. It should be a requirement for all referendums. With current technology, perhaps it would be better to have the citizens vote on every issue. Elected officials vote to be reelected, they don't really vote the will of the people or what is best for society.

ReplyI don't care what anyone says, the primary purpose was and is to sell of the North Point Government Center property--for whate ever reason. The STEM program is being tossed at the Eastwood & Norwood parents to appease them. The school system does this all the time to try and make getting what they want easier to take.

To: buck horowitz I would have to problem paying the tax if it were fairly imposed on anyone living in the Chesapeake Bay watershed. It's not. The residents of 3 or 4 "big" counties are being taxed while others, who get the same rain we do, go untaxed. Rain from "small" counties doesn't run into the bay? They don't have the same crap running off their chemically enhanced lawns polluting the water? Why should we, in Baltimore County, be taxed when the guy next door isn't. That's my objection.
