Owings Mills 'Batman' Appearance Cancelled Because of Aurora Shooting

A Chicago-area children's hospital cancelled Owings Mills resident Lenny Robinson's appearance as Batman in the wake of the Aurora, CO, shooting.

A visit to a Chicago children's hospital by Owings Mills resident Lenny Robinson, who made headlines in March after he was pulled over wearing full Batman garb, was cancelled in light of the Aurora, CO, shooting, according to Jalopnik.com. The Robert H. Laurie Children's Hospital in Chicago cancelled Robinson's visit, scheduled for Friday, July 27, saying it might upset children and parents in the wake of the recent shooting during a screening of The Dark Knight Rises in Colorado that left 12 dead and 58 wounded. Howard County Police Increasing Patrols at Theaters

Howard County police talk about how they are responding to news of the theater shooting in Colorado.

  Howard County Police said they will increase patrols around movie theaters, the Mall in Columbia and the Lakefront area in Columbia in response to the news that a gunman killed 12 people in Aurora, CO during a midnight screening of The Dark Knight Rises. "Police have met with representatives from the two movie theaters in Howard County, at Snowden Square and the Mall in Columbia, to address security issues and ensure open lines of communication with law enforcement," wrote Sherry Llewellyn, a spokesperson for Howard County Police in an email Friday afternoon.
