Howard County Police Say Mom Fooled Attempted Robber
Police searching for a man they say attempted to rob a woman in an ATM vestibule Oct. 10.
Howard County police have released photographs of a man they say tried to rob a mother at an ATM but was apparently fooled when the woman told him police had arrived. The woman told police she and her 4-year-old daughter were in the Bank of America ATM vestibule in the 9200 block of Old Annapolis Road at about 1 p.m. Oct. 10 when she was approached by a man carrying a weapon and demanding money, police said. After a cab pulled up to the bank, the woman pointed to it and told the man that police had arrived, officials said. The suspect walked out of the bank and the woman ran outside with her child, police said. Hey everyone! Love a spirited debate, don't love personal attacks. As for why this wasn't reported earlier, that's a good question. The ATM robbery was in our crime roundup on Oct. 12: "a suspect approached a victim at an ATM machine on the 9200 block of Old Annapolis Road and demanded money."
