Ellicott City Businesses, Organizations and Individuals Help Sow the Seeds of Hope

Today The Samaritan Women hold their Seeds of Hope 2011 Festival and fundraiser at their 23 acre farm in Baltimore, and numerous Ellicott City businesses and organizations are donating time, food and man-power. The event is, according to the organization, an opportunity to “welcome in the start of the growing season with this celebration of new life, new hope, and new possibilities.” This non-profit has taken a neglected and abandoned estate in southwest Baltimore, including 2 historic homes, and transformed it into a residential facility for women in recovery, a vocational program in culinary arts, and Baltimore City’s largest urban farm.
