Baltimore Man Sentenced for Columbia Mall Jewelry Store Robbery

The man along with two others stole 35 Rolex watches from the jewelry store.

A Baltimore man was sentenced to 11 years for his involvment in a 2011 armed robbery of Arthur Edward Jewelers inside the Mall in Columbia. Reginald D. Dargan, Jr., 21, was sentenced to 135 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release./ He also was ordered to pay $33,255 in restitution earlier this month after being found guilty of the robbery, according to the Baltimore division of the FBI. According to the FBI, Dargan along with two other men, Deontay Harvey and Aaron Pratt, drove to the mall on March 30, 2011. Dargan was armed with a knife and the other two were armed with handguns, said the FBI. Three Teens Robbed: Crime Roundup

Ellicott City Residential burglary Police say someone broke into a vacant apartment on the 3100 block of Normandy Woods Drive sometime between Nov. 12 and Nov. 21. Nothing was taken, according to police, but someone wrote profanities on the walls. Elkridge Commercial burglary The gate was cut in the back of Sanford Kramer, on the 8100 block of Lark Brown, according to police, allowing someone to enter the secured parking area between Nov. 16 and Nov. 19. Police say burglars broke windows on two work vans; nothing was reported stolen. Robbers Steal iPod From Pedestrian and More: Crime Roundup

Ellicott City: According to police, suspects broke into a home on the 9100 block of Sybert Drive sometime between 11 a.m. and 2:48 p.m. on Oct. 19. Police say the suspects broke glass next to the front door, reached in, unlocked the door and stole rings from a jewelry box.  Police responded to an alarm at the International Food Market on the 8700 block of Town and Country Boulevard on Oct. 22. When they arrived at about 2:20 a.m., police found the side door kicked in. The owner said nothing appeared missing. Masked Man Threatens Employees with Knife

Police say the suspect demanded money.

A masked man tried to rob a local business at knife-point, according to Howard County police. Police say a masked man entered the  Super Cleaners at 3301 Ridge Road at about 2:15 p.m.   The suspect threatened two employees, and demanded money. One victim ran out of the front door and shouted "robbery," according to police. The suspect ran without getting money, according to police, and officers responding to the area caught and detained him.  An Ellicott City man was charged with two counts of attempted robbery; four counts of assault, two counts of reckless endangerment and one count of concealing a deadly weapon. Police Say Glenelg Home Targeted by Robbers, Reward Offered

Police are asking the public for help finding three suspects.

Howard County Police are offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information about a home invasion in which three suspects tied up and robbed a man in his Glenelg home, apparently targeting that home specifically. According to police, the victim answered a knock at his door just after 7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 11. When he opened the door, police say one of the suspects showed a gun and the three forced their way into the house on the 13700 block of Triadelphia Road. The suspects are described as two white men and one white woman. The suspects demanded cash from the house’s safe, according to police, who believe the house was specifically targeted. Break-ins at Ellicott City Churches, Friars' Quarters: Howard County Crime Roundup

Ellicott City: Commercial Break-In Between 10 p.m. on Nov. 13 and 5 a.m. the following day, an unknown number of suspects broke a glass door of Bethany Lane Baptist Church, on the 3000 block of Bethany Lane, entered an office and stole documents. Ellicott City: Commercial Break-In Between 7 p.m. on Nov. 10 and 5 a.m. the following day, an unknown number of suspects broke a window and entered Great Multitude Presbyterian Church, on the 3200 block of Corporate Court, and stole a laptop, audio equipment, cash and a check. Have You Seen This Hair? Police Looking for Suspects in Armed Robbery

Police ask the public for help catching two suspects.

Howard County Police are hoping hairstyles will help the public identify two suspects after an armed robbery this week. Police say two suspects entered a Comfort Inn on U.S. 1 in Jessup just after 3 p.m. Monday. The suspects asked about room rates, then showed guns and demanded money. Police say the suspects restrained the employees and stole money before leaving. They may have driven a dark-colored SUV. Police ask that anyone with information call 410-313-STOP. Calls may be made anonymously.
