Changes Proposed for Ellicott City Historic District
The county executive announced proposed updates and the return of paid parking to downtown Ellicott City.
Parking in the Historic District has been free since Nov. 22 - the longest period of free parking to date, according to a statement released by the county. Meter enforcement will return next week, however, including at the new multi-space parking meters on Main Street and Maryland Avenue. Meters, and a new residential parking program, will operational begining Monday, Feb. 4 In a statement released Tuesday, County Executive Ken Ulman also announced that he was proposing $3 million in the FY 2014 capital budget be dedicated to projects in the Historic District. “Ellicott City is a jewel of Howard County,” he said in the statement, “one that we need to continue to invest in so that it keeps shining."
