New Economic Development Authority CEO 'Getting Involved'

Lawrence F. Twele, from Elkridge, talks about his new role, including his thoughts on Ellicott City and other areas of Howard County.

As a longtime Howard County resident, Lawrence F. Twele said he is looking forward to working for the community he loves. Having lived in Elkridge the past 16 years, Twele said he believes his knowledge of the community will help him in his new role as the chief executive officer of the Howard County Economic Development Authority. After serving in this role in a temporary capacity, Twele was unanimously selected by the HCEDA’s Board of Directors to become the new permanent CEO last week. Before Twele came to HCEDA, he was the Director of the Carroll County Department of Economic Development, where he spent six years. Twele to Lead Economic Development Authority

Lawrence F. Twele will replace Laura Neuman, who was selected to be the County Executive of Anne Arundel County.

Howard County Executive Ken Ulman has selected Lawrence F. Twele as the acting President and CEO of the Howard County Economic Development Authority. Twele will replace Laura Neuman, who left the position last week after being selected as the Anne Arundel County Executive. Prior to being selected, Twele served as executive vice president in charge of business development at the EDA. Before that, he spent six years as the director of the Carroll County Department of Economic Development. "I am honored by the County Executive's and Board of Director's faith in my ability," Twele said in a statement.
