Ellicott City Suspected burglar arrested after being robbed A juvenile male who entered an abandoned house in the 3300 block of St. Johns Lane was confronted by three other males inside the house who had bandanas covering their faces. The three men stole the juvenile's electronic tablet, cell phone and lighter, and fled. The juvenile called police, who responded to find that he had kicked in the front door to gain entry to the house and charged the juvenile with fourth-degree burglary around 11:20 p.m. on April 24. Ellicott City Commercial burglary Cash was stolen from a safe inside Enchanted Forest Wine & Spirits after someone cut a hole through an adjoining building to gain entry to the liquor store. The person pried open a rear door at the adjoining Kimco building, then a cut a hole through the wall to gain access to the store. The incident happened overnight on April 19-20. Columbia Indecent Exposure A female was walking in an area between Green Meadow Drive and Little Patuxent Parkway when she saw a man exposing himself around 10:45 a.m. on April 19. Ellicott City Residential Burglary A known person took two rings from a jewelry box in the 3700 block of Old Columbia Pike around 9 a.m. on April 16. Police are investigating. Columbia Robbery Two men met an unknown female in a parking lot in the 5600 block of Harpers Farm Road around 8:45 p.m. on April 16. The female asked if the men could walk her home, which they agreed to do. While doing so, one of the men was attacked by 10 to 15 men, according to police. The group of men stole his wallet, cell phone and keys. The victim had minor cuts to his face due to the attack. Ellicott City Man Found Hiding Inside Home A 23-year-old Severn man was found hiding inside a laundry hamper by a family member of the homeowner after the homeowner had moved out earlier in the day. The man attempted to flee, but the family member was able to keep him inside the home in the 4300 block of Centennial Lane until police arrived and arrested the man, charging him with burglary. Residential Burglary Someone forced open a rear basement window at a residence in the 3600 block of Rogers Ave. and stole a television sometime during the day on April 4. Ellicott City Robbery – Red Branch Road A man approached an employee who was taking out the trash at a business in the 9100 block of Red Branch Road and attempted to rob the employee, but the employee fled. The man chased the employee, but eventually fled as well. The employee provided a description of the man’s vehicle and police later arrested a 55-year-old Columbia man and charged him with attempted robbery and assault around 2 a.m. on Feb. 16.
