Two Deaths After Drivers Hit Trees in Howard, Montgomery Counties
A 23-year-old woman died in Howard County after police say she may have fallen asleep at the wheel.
A 23-year-old woman is dead after an early-morning collision Sunday, according to Howard County police. At about 3:17 a.m. Sunday, Kelly Jordon Duffy was driving northbound on MD Route 32 in W. Friendship, according to a statement released by police. Duffy's car, a 2007 Toyota Camry, went off the road, hitting a tree. Police say Duffy, of Windsor Mill, was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. She was the only occupant of the car. Investigators say it's possible that Duffy fell asleep at the wheel and her car veered off the road. Duffy's death was the second fatal collision in Maryland in less than six hours.
