River Hill Student Seriously Injured While Walking to School

Police said the 17-year-old student was struck by a vehicle while walking in a crosswalk.

Another high school student has been injured in Howard County.  A 17-year-old River Hill High School student is in serious condition after being struck by a car while walking to school on Linden Linthicum Lane Tuesday morning, said police. Matthew R. Curley is in stable condition at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, according to police. Police said Curley was struck by a 1998 Honda Accord.  The driver was traveling westbound on Linden Linthicum Lane around 7:30 a.m. near Little Bells Row. Curley was walking in the crosswalk, according to police. The driver, who stopped at the scene, and a passenger, were not injured, said police.
