The church will have a life celebration and an ice cream social to remember the deaths of two of their employees.
It was one year ago, May 4, 2012, when a gunman walked into the offices at St. Peter's Episcopal Church and shot Pastor Mary Marguerite Kohn and the parish secretary Brenda Brewington. The gunman, a homeless man who used the church's food pantry, was found in the woods nearby, killed by a self-inflicted gunshot wound. On Sunday, the church has invited the community to St. Peter's to celebrate the lives of Brewington and Kohn, as well as the life of the church, with an ice cream social at 2:30 p.m. and a celebration of life service at 5 p.m. "St. Peter's is alive and doing very well," said Rev.
