Centennial Volleyball: Undefeated in County Play
Coach Larry Schofield's team is in first place in the county with a 9-0 record. With four games left in county play, the team is focused on finishing the season undefeated and winning the state championship.
Since early October, each member of the Centennial varsity volleyball team has been wearing a bead bracelet that reads "November 19", the day of the state championship game. "Everything is geared towards winning the state championship," said Coach Larry Schofield. "That has been our ultimate goal since the season started." Last year the team went 13-0 in county play, winning the county title and District V championship before losing to perennial rival River Hill in the 3A East Region finals. Several key players returned this season, including Seniors Liz Brown and Samantha Brostrom, both outside hitters, who are two of the team captains.
