Dusty and Full of Love: Cat of the Week

I'm not really dirty, don't worry. But I am looking for a home.

Hello friend!  I’m Dusty.  Don’t worry, that’s just my name, I’m not actually dirty.   Boy, Sunday was tough even for us cats.  There wasn’t enough catnip at the shelter to get us through that last quarter of the game.  But I know just what you need to make you feel better! Me! What would be a better way to make you feel better than waking up to my purring and happy face every morning? And, I will be just as happy to see you every day when you get home from work.   Sure, one part of me will be looking forward to getting fed within five minutes of you walking in the door, but once I’m done eating, I’m all yours!  Stop by Small Miracles today to visit my friends or come down to the Columbia PETCO to meet me.

Congratulations Matt! We saw Dusty at PetCo on Friday and she seems very sweet. Thank you Patch for providing this information. We learned about Small Miracles here after seeing the featured cats. We visited them on Saturday and adopted an amazing cat.   more ›

Oh Snap! I Need a Home: Cat of the Week

Snap has energy, personality and charm. The only thing that's missing? A home.

Hello!  I’m Snap and I’m a bundle of energy. I have a great personality and with my charming demeanor, everyone at the shelter just adores me! Did you know that because I am black, I am less likely to be adopted? Sad, I know!  But, I have a cute patch of white under my chin so I hope that helps my chances! Need another reason to adopt me or any other black cat?  Well, you can always find me in the snow, I match any décor, and black is always in style. Personally, I like to think of myself as a mini black panthers or a Baltimore Raven. Please come visit me soon at Small Miracles.  Me and all the other kitties at Small Miracles would just love to have a new home for the holidays.  Don’t forget to visit our other friends at the Ellicott City …

Give This Cat Something to be Thankful For

Stop by Small Miracles to see what Alaska has in store for you.

Happy Thanksgiving! I'm Alaska and I am an all-American, girl-next-door type of cat. I am sweet, kind, pretty, and fun-loving. Basically, I am the purrfect girl to bring home to meet the parents. I really do love people. I stand in the table by the door to my room and greet everyone that comes in. Oh, and I just love to have my chin scratched! Stop by Small Miracles today and bring this all American girl home for this great American holiday.  I sure would be thankful! And did I mention that I love turkey? Small Miracles Cat Rescue is a nonprofit, no-kill cat shelter in Ellicott City. Each week we will feature a cat that needs a home. If you happen to pick up one of these lovelies, post a picture and let us know! Visit the Cat of the Week …

Ellicott City Cats Prepare for the Big Dogs at No-Kill Shelter

Small Miracles has 5 years and 4,200 adoptions under its belt. Now it's time to take on the dogs.

Three out of four people who come to an animal rescue shelter to adopt a pet want a dog, according to Moira Liskovec. So what’s a cat shelter to do? Get some dogs. And that’s just what Liskovec, who runs Small Miracles Cat Rescue is planning. Not that she’s having problems finding homes for her cats. With more than 4,200 adoptions under her belt, Liskovec is getting ready to celebrate her 5-year anniversary with a birthday celebration on Sat., July 23.  With this milestone, Small Miracles is moving to a bigger building where there will also be dogs for adoption. “This is a dream come true,” Liskovec said. “In the back of my mind, I’ve always wanted to do dogs too.” But space was a consideration. At its current location, Small Miracles is …
