Armed Robbery At Ellicott City Exxon: Crime Roundup

All information was provided by the Howard County Police Department.

Ellicott City Armed Robbery A man wearing a hoodie entered the Exxon gas station on Montgomery Road, grabbed a can of iced tea and brought it to the counter. When the clerk opened the cash register, the man displayed a semi-automatic handgun and demanded money. He took money from the register, as well as the clerk's wallet and iPhone. The man then fled on foot toward condominums on Ericson Road then to the YMCA parking lot. Police described the suspect as a black male, 17-21 years old, with a thin build who was wearing a blue hoodie and black pants. Baltimore Man Sentenced for Columbia Mall Jewelry Store Robbery

The man along with two others stole 35 Rolex watches from the jewelry store.

A Baltimore man was sentenced to 11 years for his involvment in a 2011 armed robbery of Arthur Edward Jewelers inside the Mall in Columbia. Reginald D. Dargan, Jr., 21, was sentenced to 135 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release./ He also was ordered to pay $33,255 in restitution earlier this month after being found guilty of the robbery, according to the Baltimore division of the FBI. According to the FBI, Dargan along with two other men, Deontay Harvey and Aaron Pratt, drove to the mall on March 30, 2011. Dargan was armed with a knife and the other two were armed with handguns, said the FBI. Police Release Video of Suspect in Hotel Robbery

Police say the man implied he had a gun before taking cash from the clerk.

The Howard County Police Department is hoping the public can help identify the suspect in an armed robbery at a hotel, and the department is offering a reward of up to $500 for information that leads to an arrest. According to police, a man walked into the main entrance of the Comfort Inn on the 8800 block of Washington Boulevard in Jessup on Dec. 14 and approached the clerk. Shell Station Employee Robbed at Gunpoint

Police say the robber wanted cigarettes and cash.

An Ellicott City gas station employee was robbed at gunpoint Friday night, according to Howard County police. An employee of the Shell gas station at 5651 Waterloo Road was walking to his car after closing on Friday at about 11:40 p.m. when a man displaying a handgun approached him, according to police. The robber ordered the employee to go back into the store where he demanded cash and cigarettes, according to police. The employee complied. Police say the man then put the employee in one of the store's freezers and left. He tried to get into the employee's car, according to police, but he couldn't and left on foot. Blood in Syringe Used in CVS Robbery HIV-Negative

Suspect allegedly said blood was tainted with HIV.

The suspect in the April 18 syringe-point robbery of an Ellicott City pharmacy walked into the store, donned a mask and sunglasses and produced a syringe, holding it to a pharmacist’s chest and telling her “AIDS syringe” before demanding drugs, according to charging documents.  The syringe was filled with blood, according to Howard County police, but that blood was not tainted with HIV, spokeswoman Sherry Llewellyn said Tuesday.  Because of privacy laws, Llewellyn said she could not disclose the source of the blood.  Benjamin Frederick Blessing, 52, of Golden Sky Court in Columbia, was indicted May 31 on two counts of armed robbery, assault and reckless endangerment in connection with the robbery of CVS Pharmacy on Centennial Lane. Ellicott City Man Faces Federal Charges After Failed Undercover Police Sting

An incident from November of last year has an Ellicott City man heading to federal court.

An Ellicott City man faces federal weapons and robbery charges in connection with an armed robbery in Columbia, according to the Baltimore Sun. A Savage teenager and an accused gang member from Columbia, also face charges in connection with the robbery. On Nov. 8 of last year, Howard County Police responded to an armed robbery in Kings Contrivance. According to the Sun, the incident was a failed undercover police sting targeting Michael Dominique Johnson, 19, of Columbia. Bryan Alexander Mays, 24, of Ellicott City faces federal robbery and weapons charges. Police Make Arrest in Ellicott City Robbery

Police are investigating a possible connection to two Elkridge robberies.

Howard County police arrested an Aberdeen man in connection with the robbery of an Ellicott City store, according to police. Authorities said they are also investigating the suspect's connection to additional store robberies committed over the weekend. Among the string of three weekend robberies, one was on Montgomery Road in Ellicott City and two occurred on Old Waterloo Road in Elkridge, police said. “The three robberies over the weekend had similarities in method of robbery, as well as a similar suspect description, all within a close geographic area and time frame,” said Elizabeth Schroen, spokeswoman for the Howard County Police Department. Armed Robbery in Ellicott City

Police are looking for two suspects.

Two men robbed a person at gunpoint in an Ellicott City this weekend and then forced someone else to drive them along Baltimore National Pike, according to police. The victim was sitting in the back seat of a vehicle with friends in a parking lot on the 8400 block of Baltimore National Pike on Saturday at about 6:30 p.m., according to police, when two unknown men came out from a nearby wooded area. Police said the men got into the back seat of the car, showed a gun and demanded valuables from the suspect, who complied, turning over cash, a cell phone and a knife. Cigarettes, Lottery Tickets and Cash: Police Ask for Help Finding Robbery Suspect

Police say a man robbed a Columbia gas station at gunpoint.

Howard County Police are offering a reward for information about a suspect who they say robbed a gas station of lottery tickets, cigarettes and cash. According to police, the man entered the Shell station at 9108 Snowden River Parkway in Columbia on July 1 around 1:30 a.m. and showed a gun. He then assaulted an employee and, according to police, demanded cash. The two employees gave the suspect money, and he fled, but not before also taking cigarettes and lottery tickets, according to police.  There were no customers in the store. Officials say the suspect then stole one of the employee’s cars, a 2002 Oldsmobile Brevada.
