Reports of Stephen Alex Rane paint the picture of a gregarious, inquisitive young man with a kind streak.
The 22-year-old Centennial High School graduate who was shot and killed last week in College Park was an extrovert who “wasn’t afraid to raise his hand,” the University of Maryland student newspaper, the Diamondback, reported. Stephen Alex Rane was a senior at the University of Maryland, where he studied English and linguistics. Police say he was shot and killed by his roommate, 23-year-old Dayvone Maurice Green, last week. According to his obituary, Rane was born in Lafayette, Ind. in 1990. Stephen Alex Rane, 22, died suddenly on February 12, 2013, in College Park, Md. Born June 18, 1990, in Lafayette, Ind., he attended West Lafayette Junior/Senior High School and was a 2009 graduate of Centennial High School. Stephen was a senior at the University of Maryland, majoring in English and Linguistics, at the time of his death. Michael Dingle, of Catonsville, owned Natural Way Design and Landscaping.
The owner of a Catonsville landscaping company who was cutting down a tree in Clarksville fell to his death along with part of the tree Tuesday, according to Howard County Police. Police found Michael Joseph Dingle, 40, unconscious and not breathing when they responded to the 8500 block of Reservoir Road just after 10 a.m. According to police, Dingle, owner of Natural Way Design and Landscaping, was working in a tree with all of the rigging attached. Police say Dingle and his employee removed the top 15 – 20 feet of the tree; it went as planned. After removing the top of the tree, however, the trunk uprooted, according to police.
