George - Great locations, but you did forget the White House, the lawn of the White House (tent cityRead More in DC). All the people you mentioned do not want this disaster around them, but are more than happy to subject their subjects (the American people) to crime, diseases, and heavy taxes to pay for their so-called compassion for society.

You are correct. Buy Jesse NEVER liked BOb, in large part because the media "messiah"Read More never knelt to wash Jesse's feet as he passed through Chicago. The ascension of BOb to the national stage has rendered the Rev irrelevant. And that only deepens his disdain.

Commissioner R - Agree with all you said with the exception of transferring funds from one AmericanRead More to another. In this case, of immigrants (illegals) it is transferring money from hard-working Americans to NON-Americans. This is King O's way of depleting all of us, our states, and each American of our resources- taking from us and giving it away to whom he wants. He has become the "Great Destroyer" of this country. King O believes he knows better, and is smarter than us. Agree churches and charities do better than the government; but no one has viewed another point of view. How many Americans adopt children from these countries. Isn't that enough of assistance. Apparently, no - we the "Generous America" has to foot the bill for the corrupt governments of Central and South America and house, feed, provide medical care, educate, and to teach English. This influx is wrong, and everyone on this thread knows that; the real question is what are we going to do about it. Does anyone know who makes the decision for the illegal children/families/gang members to occupy the vacant Army Reserve Building?

Ullman finds more pointless and unconstructive ways to spend our tax dollars AND waste hisRead More time........than he should. Let's just keep it as that. Maybe he should do something revolutionary and novel, like reduce govt spending, taxation, and involvement in our lives. That's what I'll look for, as a retirement destination (another state)
MG42 July 8, 2014 at 05:54 pm
Main Street EC is the lamest place in the world. It certainly doesn't merit state subsidy. This isRead More the richest county in the state, why should folks in Garrett County subsidize Ellicott City?
Matt Bechta July 11, 2014 at 06:58 am
No. As the richest county, Howard countians pay more per capita than other counties, thus paying inRead More more to the State funds then they draw, thus subsidizing other counties.
New Georgia law tickets slow drivers getting in the way of faster cars. What do you think?
Jessie Grey July 6, 2014 at 10:34 am

Who said anything about a woman? You are obviously trying to start crap lol. Nice try though.Read More Newsflash - we have male teachers and male nurses in 2014... back to what you said about an armed citizen not being able to pull the trigger - my thoughts exactly. A kid is shooting up the school and an armed citizen just might not be able to look at the child and shoot them. Our society doesnt look at children as target practice, so when presented with a child with a gun, I dont buy that the average citizen would shoot a child. So what I get from this back and forth is that you folks have opinions that go back and forth however you like to make a point and then you also like to start crap either that or you cant read. Teachers who cant read.... interesting.

Fentanyl is not prescribed after surgery unless you have been on narcotics for a long while. WhileRead More this appears to be a problem on the streets, it has made those that need prescriptions to function nearly impossible and they are labeled/scrutinized. Someone that can appease both scenarios and has legitimate knowledge should be appointed to this "diversion control" effort. It is impossible to do right thing for everyone. If someone dies from a heroin overdose, so be it. It was their decision to use it in the first place.

As a vet who was diagnosed with lung cancer associated with "agent orange" I wasRead More originally awarded future medical care but "Zero" disability because "Our records show you have already had half of your lung removed, and after it was shown to have spread to your lymph nodes your non-va doctors completed 4rounds of chemotherapy. The VA found that all this completed I was again 100% healthy. After 5 years and several appeals and several hundred pages of medical records later I am now rated at 80%. I can't begin to explain the long term physical effects of my treatment. But the hundreds of pages of medical records could. Again, the mental stress of 5 ++ years of fighting and continued denials and appeals HSS left me exhausted. It is no wonder the benefit caseload is so backed up. Their first course is ALWAYS to deny benefits. Resulting in appeals and further backlogs. Are there bonuses for denying benefits????
Steve D June 25, 2014 at 07:55 am
Yes, similar here to. I filled out my application 5 years ago, went through some business aboutRead More transferring my medical records from storage, that took 6 months, been waiting 4.5 years for my initial interview. I was told to get help from vfw and other folks to help get it through va, they didn't return my calls. After exposure to "special weapons" contents during desert storm I have a neurological issue, diabetes and am basically rotting from the inside out. I gave up on VA after a few years. I apparently have a couple presumptive conditions.

Dean Smith June 23, 2014 at 01:02 pm
For some reason, I could see clearly that information from this article was going to occur. I basedRead More it on how funds from the Maryland lottery were handled (i.e. the same which are occurring now with the casinos) and other areas (such as Las Vegas and Atlantic City) whose area casinos haven’t been a benefit. Peter Franchot has mentioned for years about the negative aspects of gambling but hardly no one listened. The majority of Maryland citizens brought the idea that casino revenue would help horse racing and education. Even the casino companies and leaders of this current legislature sold a bill of goods that casinos revenue would help lower taxes. I don’t think an administration could do a worst job in handling the casino operations in Maryland as this one currently in office.

This state needs someone with a big set that is going to pull the plug on legislators in AnnapolisRead More and say no to any new taxes. Under the present administration, this state has been hit with more taxes and fee increase than you can shake a stick at. It's time we tried something different, a governor that reduces spending and taxing. If speed and red light cameras are revenue raisers, then I don't think they are a very sustainableRead More one. This is only one of the recent animals not scanned at the shelter. A cat sat there for over a monthRead More before it was discovered it had a microchip. Understanding this is only the tip of the iceberg as to what's really going on at Baltimore County Animal Shelter. It's time for a total reform of this place, let's start by getting it out of the county's hands and in more compassionate experienced hands. They refuse to release any statistics from 2013 but say the euthanasia rate is going down! Then why don't they release this information if it is true? The last records released were from 2012, which showed a kill rate of over 63% - this is unacceptable - approximately only 4 out of every 10 animals leave this place alive. What a disgrace to the county's tax payers who fund this shelter.
