Nice shop. I go to BC&JE mainly for supplies and coins. The customer service was satisfactory. The coins that they sell are a little expensive, but they are not focused specifically on dealing coins so this is understandable. They do not attempt to rip you off, which some dealers do. Watch carefully for problem coins.. the lighting in the store (like most stores) does not permit very accurate inspections of the items easily. The man that works there does take trades and is fair about them. I go there for small-time stuff. For more expensive numismatic articles (or bullion), Frederick Coin Exchange is the way to go, but Baltimore Coin is a nice local shop if you are not willing to go there. Since coins are not the only focus of the shop, the owner will only buy/trade in things that he doesn't have in stock or wants/needs more of, like common silver or eagles. The owner is also knowledgable about investing and can be a source of tips. The prices are the most fair on UNC common silver Roosevelt dimes, which have a flat-rate price of $5 for most specimens. Also a good source of supplies. I would recommend this store to a local collector looking to buy cheaper-ranged coins and currency.
