The Howard County Department of Recreation and Parks estimated between 20,000 and 25,000 people attended the 4th of July festivities at the Lakefront. The total cost of the event to the county was $41,150, which included the fireworks, children's entertainment, band and port-a-johns, according to Phil Bryan, superintendent of recreation for HCDRP.
