Howard County Restaurant Weeks Guide

A guide to the more than 20 restaurants participating in Howard County's "Farm -2- Table" restaurant weeks.

More than 20 area restaurants will be offering special menus during Howard County’s "Farm -2- Table" restaurant weeks starting on July 18.

Participating restaurants from Columbia, Ellicott City and Elkridge will be offering fixed price menus that range from $10.12 to $40.12.  The two weeks of deals kicks off with a and then runs from July 18 – August 6.

As part of the “Farm-2-Table” theme, restaurants will be incorporating locally grown, raised or caught produce, meat and seafood.

The following restaurants are participating (along with links to their price fixed menus, if available):

Dinner – three courses - $35.12

Highlights: Clark’s Farm ratatouille; Rosetta Farms black angus NY strip with fingerling potato salad; Maryland crab cakes; Larriland Farm Glengo peach napoleon with pastry cream and phyllo

Dinner- three courses - $20.12

Highlights: Mini bruschetta; rack of lamb with garlic mashed potatoes and a cabernet sauce; pan seared halibut with sweet corn sauce and an arugula salad

Dinner – three courses - $32.12

Highlights: Watermelon gazpacho; Treuth New York strip steak with a roasted tomato demi-glaze and caramelized onions; fresh berries napoleon with whipped cream

Dinner – three courses - $30.12

Highlights: Breaded and fried risotto balls stuffed with peas, thyme and pancetta; pan-fried Chesapeake Bay soft shell crab with arugula and tomato salsa; braised brisket over linguine with sautéed mushrooms; chocolate chip cannolis with cinnamon cocoa powder; lemon sorbet from Great Falls Ice Cream topped with raspberries and chopped basil

Lunch – three courses - $13.12

Dinner – four courses - $32.12

Highlights: Maryland tomato topped with jumbo lump crab meat and Vidalia onion; homemade focaccia topped with pear, red onion, walnuts and Gorgonzola; grilled hearts of romaine and portabella mushroom (lunch); Ahi tuna wrapped in bacon with mushroom demi-glaze; cannoli

Lunch – three courses - $21.95

Dinner – three courses - $38.95

Highlights: pate de Campagne, Alsation sauerkraut stew with sausages, smoked pork and potatoes; chicken with wild mushrooms and vegetables in a buckwheat crepe; pan seared salmon with lemon grass, clams and coconut milk; house-made sorbet; French custard flavored with espresso

Elkridge

Dinner – four courses - $40.12

Highlights: Spicy shrimp, sautéed in butter with jalapenos and served with a remoulade sauce; burrito with shrimp, calamari, clams, chicken and pork mixed with peas and red peppers; pineapple with agave rum sauce served with vanilla ice cream.

Dinner – Menu will be posted on its website by Wednesday morning

Bill Perry of Elkridge Furnace Inn said, “We’ve expanded our organic garden… that’s where we grow most of herbs, and a lot of our lettuce. Across the street we have about 400 square feet where we’re growing fingerling potatoes… a lot of the vegetables we’re using aren’t just coming from a farm, they’re coming from our backyard.”

Columbia

Dinner – three courses - $39.12    

Highlights: braised pork belly and watermelon salad, flash fried rock shrimp tossed in Chile aioli, tempura fried local soft-shell crab

Lunch – two or three courses - $10.12 or $14.12

Dinner – three courses - $39.12

Highlights: Gorman Farm tomato gazpacho (lunch); shrimp, mussel and scallops braised in Chardonnay cream sauce; beef cassoulet with lamb and chicken sausage, white beans and herbs

Lunch – three courses - $22.00

Dinner – four courses - $32.00

Highlights: Maryland crab soup; honey strawberry chicken and brie (lunch); asparagus fries; watermelon feta salad; pork tenderloin glazed with spiced rum BBQ sauce served with coconut risotto, grilled pineapple; warm peach bread pudding

Lunch – three courses - $16.12

Dinner – three courses - $30.12

Highlights: Dijon marinated sirloin steak (lunch); New York Strip topped with bleu cheese, mushrooms; mahi-mahi with crab imperial and hollandaise sauce

Lunch – two courses - $15

Dinner – three courses - $35

Highlights: Choose from any lunch or dinner entrée (except the signature steak)

Dinner – three courses - $40.12

Highlights: Tomato and fettuccine salad with basil and black olives; stuffed shrimp with jumbo local crab meat; bronzed mahi-mahi with seafood gumbo and Andouille sausage; grilled NY strip with Pizzioli sauce

The Melting Pot

Dinner – three courses - $30.12

Highlights: Three course fondue “experience” with your choice of one of five cheeses with assorted breads, vegetables and apples for dipping; fresh salad; entrees of marinated chicken breast, teriyaki sirloin, shrimp or pasta; chocolate fondue dessert

Baldwin’s Station – Sykesville

Lunch – two or three courses - $10.12 or $15.12

Dinner – three courses - $30.12

Highlights: Smoke salmon flatbread (lunch); marinated portabella sandwich with mesclun, roasted bell pepper, red onion and fresh mozzarella (lunch); heirloom tomato bruschetta; wild mushroom bisque; South Dakota angus with leek and heirloom salad and smoked Boursin smashed potato; NY style cheese cake; chocolate flourless cake with chocolate mousse

Ranazul – Fulton (Maple Lawn)

Dinner – four courses - $35

Highlights: Grilled peach salad; spicy tomato soup with grilled chicken, Monterey Jack cheese, avocado and tortilla strips; corn cakes with crab, shrimp and tomato ragout; scallops with spring vegetebles, crab and lemon butter sauce; open pork empanada; Peruvian chicken with potatoes, wilted spinach and Dijon mustard
