Tatyana McFadden Wins ... Again

The speedy Clarksville Paralympic athlete brought her winning streak to the Chicago Marathon.

Clarksville native Tatyana McFadden gets around.

The three-time Paralympic gold medalist came in at first place Sunday in the Chicago Marathon women's wheelchair race, reports the Chicago Tribune.

It's been just a month since she brought home four medals from the London 2012 Paralypic games: three gold medals and one bronze.

She's also a finalist for the Women's Sports Foundation Paralympic Track and Field Athlete of the Year

McFadden told the Tribune that she was inspired by a young girl named Addison who has spina bifida. The two had been communicating; McFadden dedicated her win to Addison and her family.

Her secret to winning? McFadden told the Tribune, "You just have to remember ... keep low and keep aerodynamic."

I'll never forget how this girl sued to be able to participate alongside able-bodied track athletes in high school and cost her school and one of her classmates a state championship when she "paced" her teammate instead of just racing. Her high school teammate had her state championship victory taken away and the points lost in that race dropped Atholton from 1st to 3rd at the state meet.
