Kara Tagget Open 2012

The 4th annual Kara Tagget Open will be held on July 23, 2012 at the Waverly Woods Golf Club, Marriottsville, Maryland. All proceeds benefit the Katrina Tagget Memorial Foundation (KTMF) for mental health awareness and education and for suicide prevention.

Katrina "Kara" Tagget was 21 years old when she died by suicide on September 20, 2008. Kara was a loving daughter and sister, caring friend, and passionate and dedicated student who found time to give to others. Unfortunately, Kara's depression was not properly diagnosed and treated and led to her suicide. KTMF was founded by the Tagget family to be an avenue to share experiences and knowledge to help thousands of others who face the challenges of mental illness and to those who suffer the loss of a loved one to suicide. The Kara Tagget Open has raised $60,000 in 3 years which has all been donated to KTMF who in turn has donated to organizations focused on KTMF’s mission, organizations that could have saved Kara’s life if we had only known about them.

The event begins with registration and lunch, followed by golf, and ending with dinner, silent auction, and awards presentation. You can participate as a golfer, be a sponsor, or donate item(s) for the silent auction or awards. Event details including pay online for registration and/or sponsorship is at http://katrinatagget.org/KaraTaggetOpen2012.htm. All donations are tax deductible. Registration for golf is due by June 30, 2012.
