Girl Scouts of Central Maryland Fourth Annual BIG Outdoors Event

At The Caitlin Dunbar Nature Center at Camp Ilchester

This year's event promises to be the biggest and best BIG Outdoors Event ever held, anywhere. We have an amazing line-up of experts willing to share their outdoor's knowledge and experiences with you.

• Grab a bow and some arrows and fun down on the archery range
• Scale new heights on our amazing rock wall
• Pan for gems at the Mobile Mining Experience, and crack some geodes, too
• Try your hand at geocaching
• Marvel at the woodworking wonders of ace chainsaw artist, Evelyn Mogren
• Take home a plant from our greenhouse
• Thrill to the aerial excitement of hunters in flight with Adventures with Raptors
• Dance with Native Americans while learning more about their culture
• Kick up your outdoor cooking skills at Don's Dutch Oven Clinic
• Meet a Master Bowyer (maker of bows and arrows)
• Take in the natural beauty of Camp Ilchester on a nature hike
• Check out our apiary and new aviary
• Talk with some Master Gardeners
• Learn how to become a Master Naturalist

So, grab a friend, bring your mom and dad, brothers and sisters, your whole family, and spend a day enjoying the BIG Outdoors!  This event is open Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and members of the public.

Admission will be $5.00 at the gate on April 15. Tote bags and patches and geode cracking tickets and tickets for the Mobile Mining Experience will be available for purchase at the BIG Outdoors Event. Refreshments will be available.
