Clarksville Athlete Brings Home the Gold

Tatyana McFadden has earned seven medals at the Paralympics. This week, she earned her first gold.

Finally, the gold medal.

After scoring four silver and two bronze medals at the Athens and Beijing Paralympics, Clarksville native Tatyana McFadden brought home the gold Monday in the 400m event.

“This is definitely one of my highlight moments,” McFadden said in statement to the Team USA website. “It’s definitely a moment I won’t forget.”

McFadden, a track and field athlete, finished almost three seconds ahead of second place finisher, Hongjiao Dong, of China, with a time of 55.43, according to Team USA.
