Howard County Schools Closed Wednesday As Frigid Temps Begin

Schools were also closed to staff and students Tuesday as multiple inches of snow fell in the county.


All Howard County public schools are closed Wednesday after a snow storm struck and as cold temperatures roll into the county.

The school announced the closure around 7:15 p.m. Tuesday.

A wind chill advisory is in effect until noon Wednesday. Temperatures are predicted to fall between 5 and 15 degrees below zero Tuesday night, according to the National Weather Service.

All evening activities in schools, as well as school-sponsored and community-sponsored, are canceled. This includes high school athletic practices and games, according to the school system.
