Gov. O'Malley to Visit Dunloggin Middle School

The governor is visiting to highlight the school's environmental education programs.

Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley is scheduled to visit Dunloggin Middle School in Ellicott City this week to highlight the school's environmental education programs.

The governor plans to visit the school on Halloween, Thursday, Oct. 31. He is expected to tour stream restoration and wetland construction areas behind the school and visit with students in the Oyster Gardening Group, who will present how they're helping to restore oyster populations in the Chesapeake Bay.

Dunloggin is the only U.S. Green Ribbon School in Howard County. The school received the designation for promoting sustainability education and reducing environmental impact, according to the U.S. Department of Education.
