SCHOOL HEALTH COUNCIL MEETING

SCHOOL HEALTH COUNCIL MEETING TO SET PRIORITIES

The Howard County School Health Council, a state mandated advisory council with representatives from the HCPSS, the Health Department and various community groups, will host Filipa Gomez, HCPSS School Health Services and Brett Stark, Frederick County Public Schools School Health Council, at their first General Meeting on Thursday, September 13, 10:00 – 11:30AM at the Howard County Health Department, 7178 Columbia Gateway Drive, Columbia in conference room A/B.   This kick-off meeting is to set priorities for the year and the agenda will include: an overview of our student’s health and a summary of the Frederick School Health Council findings from its School Health Index Initiative, which surveys the status of policies and programs in schools.  Attendees are welcome to provide feedback for the development of policy recommendations, program content and metrics with which to monitor success.
