Observatory Night at Glenelg Country School

Mars and Saturn in the constellation of Virgo will be visible. Other constellations that you’ll be able to see include Sagittarius, Scorpius, the Summer Triangle trio of constellations (Cygnus, Lyra, and Aquila), and of course our usual groups near the North Celestial Pole… which include Ursa Major and Minor.

Please feel free to come for a half-hour to hour, and enjoy the sights. You shouldn’t need to dress warmly now, and I will have the air-conditioning on in the adjoining control room.

If the night is cloudy or rainy, I’ll be there at 8:00 pm in any event, but I will only stay around for a half-hour in case anyone wants to see the telescope itself.

Again, if you miss this week, we’ll scheudle another night in two weeks.

Thank you.

Jose Ruiz, on behalf of the GCS Summer Camp “Looking at the Stars”
