Marching Under the Stars

Marching Under the Stars," a regional marching band competition, will be held at 6 p.m. Oct. 9 at Centennial High School, 4300 Centennial Lane, Ellicott City, for the fifth consecutive year.

This event has all the festive exhilaration of a parade - times eight! Add to that excitement the thrill of competition. A wide variety of music will be performed for a cheering crowd in the football stadium by bands of all sizes. Their choreographed routines include drill teams, colorful props, electric guitars, drum line solos, and more.          The Centennial Marching Eagles will perform in exhibition, as will the Shepherd University Ram Band from Shepherdstown, West Virginia.  Other Howard County high schools registered to compete include Long Reach, Marriotts Ridge, and Reservoir.

Also participating are: Broadneck High School, Annapolis; Century High School, Sykesville; Middletown High School, Middletown; Patapsco High School and Center for the Arts, Dundalk; and Perry Hall High School, Baltimore.
