Calling all Howard County Residents with Reliability Problems

We know there are still communities in Howard County with reliability issues, and we want to find them so they can sign onto the 2nd reliability petition before it goes to MD's PSC.

Today three Howard County reliability activists met with our County Council Representative, Courtney Watson.  Our agenda was to give Courtney an update including presenting her with a list of all the communities affected.  This list has grown recently, so that we now have more than a handful of communities that have only come forward since the derecho.  We are all interested in ensuring that as many communities as possible are part of the second petition going forward to the PSC.   The second petition will cite the same little known part of MD Utility Law that allows a minimum of 100 customers to petition the PSC for an investigation in a reliability matter.  We were successful with the first petition which we submitted earlier this year; the investigation is currently underway following a public hearing last month.  If you haven't signed the second petition but have reliability problems, please make contact so you can sign up.  If you know others with unreliable service, please encourage them to make contact so they can join us on the second petition.  Our goal is to have identified and signed on as many of the affected HOCO neighborhoods as we can before the end of this month.
