President's Day: What's Open, What's Not in Howard County

Trash will be picked up, some recreation facilities will be open, and, yes, you still have to pay the parking meters

Howard County government offices, senior centers, courts and the animal shelter will be closed Monday in observance of Presidents' Day, but some services and facilities will be available, according to a statement from county officials.

Regular trash and recycling serves will operate as scheduled, and the landfill will be open.

Howard Transit and Connect-a-Ride will operate on its regular weekday schedule.

County parks and indoor recreation facilities, inluding the Gary J. Arthur and North laurel community centers, the Roger Carter Recreation Center and the Meadowbrook Athletic Complex will be open.

The Kiwanis-Wallas Recreation Center and the Robinson Nature Center will be closed.

All parking regulations and fees will be in effect.

The 911 Center and police and fie departments remains staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Residents with emergencies should call 911; for non-emergencies, call 410-313-2200.

All count offices will reopen for regular business hours Feb. 21.
