Poll: Does Maryland Need a Special Session?

Taking a cue from a commenter, Patch asks your opinion.

Last week, he would call the legislature into a special session on May 14.

The session's goal will be to balance the state budget and to eliminate the more than $500 million in cuts that were part of the so-called "doomsday budget" that passed at the end of the legislative session.

On the table, among other things, might be an income tax increase and a shift of part of the cost of teacher pensions from the state to local jurisdictions.

In the comments on last week's article, more than 50 people spoke up, including , who said he polled random people and asked if they thought the state needed a special session.

Here's what he said happened (edited, read the entire comment ): "Fact is I did three of the small white page books Baltimore City, County and Anne Arundel. NEVER GOT A YES answer.  DO you hear Annapolis? There is NO support from the people ..."
