NotifyMeHoward Launches Today

A new, online notification system allows residents on the go to keep up with Howard County.

Want to get news from Howard County on your mobile phone? In your email? Beginning today, you can.

Officials today launched of NotifyMeHoward, an alert system that allows people to sign up for emergency news alerts from the police department, fire and rescue, and the Emergency Management Office.

And if you want to know if morning commute is going to include a detour, find out by subscribing to notifications from the Department of Public Works. Residents can keep up with local news from other departments, too, including the library system and the Health Department.

NotifyMeHoward can also pull in alerts from other sources such as the Centers for Disease and Control, the National Weather Service and the Consumer Product Safety Commission, where you can get information about product recalls.
