Howard County Offers Services to Residents Whose Power Is Out

From showers to water, citizens can get county assistance on Thursday and Friday.

Nearly 1,500 were without power in Howard County at noon on Thursday, according to BGE.

To help assist its residents, Howard County government is offering services from water and power to shelters and showers on Thursday and Friday.

Here's what's available:

  • The "water buffalo" will be at the Gary J. Arthur Community Center in Glenwood (2400 Route 97, Cooksville) from 3–9 p.m. on Thursday and 8:30 a.m.–5 p.m. on Friday. Residents should bring their own containers.
  • Showers, a place to charge electronics and warmth are available at the Gary J. Arthur Community Center during normal business hours: Monday to Saturday, 7 a.m–9 p.m.; and Sunday, 9 a.m.–6 p.m.
