Early Voting Roundup

Less than 3 percent of eligible voters have already cast a ballot.

Maryland's primary elections are tomorrow, but already more than 4,500 Howard County residents have cast their votes.

For the first time, Maryland voters this year had the option of early voting. According to Guy Mickley, Deputy Director of the Board of Elections, 4,628 people came out to vote in three polling places around the county: Ridgely's Run Community Center in Jessup, Ellicott City Senior Center and the Bain Center in Columbia.

That's about 2.6 percent of the County's 176,602 eligible voters. The numbers, while not high, were "about exactly what we expected," Mickley said.
