Witnesses See Burning Man Jump From Bridge, Arrests in 23 Armed Robberies: Patch on the Police Beat

A man set fire to himself and jumped from a foot bridge crossing Little Patuxent Parkway in Columbia during rush hour, according to witnesses and police. Two bus drivers are being lauded for using a fire extinguisher to douse flames engulfing the man. Columbia Patch was on the scene.

Police have charged two men in a string of armed robberies throughout Baltimore and Anne Arundel counties, according to Capt. Matt McElwee, commander of . The robbers' method, which McElwee , was to wait until just before a store would close and then stage a violent robbery. McElwee spoke to Owings Mills Patch.

Four vehicles weren’t enough for three alleged criminals who struck a Laurel Acura Nissan dealership last week. The men were apparently ready to take two more, but police put an end to the theft spree early Monday morning. Now the men are charged with multiple crimes, including motor vehicle theft and theft of property valued between $10,000 and $100,000. Columbia Patch has the story.
