A driver was charged with driving under the influence Sunday after her vehicle collided with a tree in the Green Lot of Merriweather Post Pavillion as she was leaving Wine in the Woods, according to police spokeswoman Sherry Llewellyn.

On Saturday, a cab was ordered for an intoxicated man but when it arrived, police say he refused to get in and became disorderly.

He then reportedly hit another person and started running down Little Patuxent Parkway shouting at people and cars, according to Llewellyn. Police attempted to calm him down, but he allegedly continued to be combative. He was arrested and charged with assault.

Other than those two incidents, Llewellyn said, there were few issues at the annual festival.

"Police managed very large crowds and significant traffic challenges between two days of Wine in the Woods and three concerts at Merriweather, again, with few issues," Llewellyn said.
