Watson Uses Two Hands For Life at CPR Training

Council member Courtney Watson showed up to support CPR training.

The Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services (HCDFRS) hosted its "2 Hands 4 Life Pump-a-Thon" last Sunday 

During the 30-minute event, teams worked together to receive hands-on CPR training. Bystander CPR offers the best chance of survival for someone who hs sufferesd sudden cardiac arrest, according to HCDRFS. 

“We need your help, as witnesses to the sudden collapse, to call 911 and start CPR immediately,” HCDFRS Medical Director Dr. Kevin Seaman said in a statement.

“CPR now is much simpler, just compress the chest fast and hard until our fire department personnel arrive and take over. By starting CPR you will increase the chances that the patient will respond to our treatment. Please take the short time it takes to learn Hands-Only CPR – you can save a life.”
