Reported Threat Closed Old Waterloo Road, Police Say

The Howard County Police Department said the road reopened after 5 p.m.

A road was closed for nearly two hours in Elkridge Wednesday after someone reportedly made a threat toward a business in the area, according to the Howard County Police Department.

Police said that the incident was in the 6400 block of Old Waterloo Road, and once officers investigated, they determined there was no threat.

At 3:47 p.m. on Wednesday, transportation officials reported that the closure was in a different area—Waterloo Road at Old Stockbridge Drive—and the Howard County Police Department said officers were investigating a suspicious circumstance off MD Route 108/Waterloo Road.

Police advised citizens to avoid the area of the 6400 block of Waterloo Road, in a report just before 4:30 p.m., as officers investigated.

The department reported at 5:22 p.m. that Old Waterloo Road reopened.
