Two Funerals for Victims of Ellicott City Church Shooting

Friends, family and well-wishers shared thoughts about Mary-Marguerite Kohn and Brenda Brewington.

Friends and family remember Mary-Marguerite Kohn and Brenda Brewington for their devotion and dedication to others, according to the Baltimore Sun.

last Thursday at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Ellicott City. Police pronounced Brewington dead at the scene. Kohn died days later from her injuries.

Howard County Police say the suspect,  and had frequented the St. Peter's food bank. He was found dead in an area near the church with a handgun near his body.

At Tuesday's memorial service at the Cathedral of the Incarnation in Baltimore, Kohn's brother, Frank C. Kohn, said his sister was passionate abut social justice and helping people who "were angry with God," the Sun reports.

A service was scheduled for Brewington today at 1:30 p.m. at .

Friends told the Sun that Brewington was a whiz with children. She ran a daycare out of her house, worked part-time at Worthington Elementary School and taught preschool at St. Peter's before taking a job as an administrative assistant.

Preschool director Robin Fleegal told the Sun that if Brewington had an unsocial student "she would bring the child out, bring them into play with the other children. She wanted everyone to have a sense of belonging."
