Teens, Families Thank Rescue Crews, Hospital Staff After Crash

Two of the three teens injured in a February crash met with the people who helped them stay alive.

Three teenagers are recovering after being injured in February when , and today they thanked the people who helped them survive.

According to the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Service (HCDFRS), Stephen Drago, 18, Thomas Drago, 17, and Patrick Moore, 16, were in a car traveling eastbound on Baltimore National Pike, turning left on Pebble Beach Drive, when it struck a school bus driving west on Baltimore National Pike.

Rescue crews brought all three to the University of Maryland’s Shock Trauma Center, police reported at the time.

On Monday, April 9, Thomas Drago and Moore, along with family members, thanked in person the paramedics, firefighters and Shock Trauma professionals who were responsible for their care on-scene and during their recovery.

All three teens have been released from the hospital, but Stephen Drago could not make the ceremony because of a previous engagement, according to HCDFRS spokesperson Jackie Cutler.

Also at the ceremony, held at Ellicott City Fire Station #2, was County Council member Courtney Watson and HCDFRS Chief William Goddard.
