Search Lights Look for Robbery Suspects

A Howard County Police helicopter was looking for two men in Ellicott City Sunday night.

Did you notice the lights over Ellicott City Sunday night? 

A Howard County helicopter was in the area searching for two suspects in an attempted armed robbery, according to Howard County Police spokeswoman Sherry Llewellyn. 

According to police, two men hit a victim with a metal flashlight on the 3600 block of Mt. Ida Drive.

The suspects knew the victim, according to the police report.

According to police, the suspects also tried to take the victim’s wallet, but they were unsuccessful.

When police arrived on the scene, they found the victim had head injuries and the suspects had fled. The victim was taken to Howard County General Hospital for treatment.

Police searched for the suspects using the county’s helicopter, which swept its light over the search area, but did not find them.

The two suspects' descriptions follow:

  • White male; 5 feet 7 inches; 140 pounds; brown hair; hazel eyes
  • Black male; about 20 years old; 5 feet 10 inches; shaved head; wearing striped polo shirt, jeans and black sneakers.
