Columbia:

Howard County Police are looking for three suspects in connection with a robbery on the Route 29 footbridge who may also have been involved with an attempted break-in on Swift Stream Place.

Just before 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 20, police were called to the 103000 block of Swift Stream Place for reports of men turning doorknobs along the hallway.  Police said a person reported hearing his doorknob turning and when he looked out of his door, he saw three suspects headed toward Little Pawtuxent Parkway

About ten minutes later, police say two men approached a woman walking on the Route 29 footbridge Saturday at about 8:35 p.m. The men grabbed her purse, according to police, but when the woman did not let go, they reached into her pocket and took her iPhone. Police say the suspects ran toward Stevens Forest Apartments.

In both cases, police say the suspects were three black men in their early 20s with thin builds. The men were medium height and all wearing dark-colored clothes.

Police spokesperson Mary T. Phelan said that because of the similar descriptions, police are “looking into the possibility” that the same group of suspects are responsible in both incidents.

On Oct. 20 the front door to a vacant house on the 5600 block of Thunder Hill Road was found open.

Elkridge/Jessup

Suspects threw a concrete block through the back deck window of a home on the 6800 block of Norris Lane on Oct. 19 sometime between 12:30 and 5 p.m., according to police. Stolen from the home was a shotgun, a checkbook and jewelry.

Police say a victim discovered windows to a shed at New Image Landscaping on the 7500 block of Montevideo Road were broken sometime between 7 p.m. Oct. 18 and 8 a.m. the next day. The victim reported three chain saws stolen.

Suspects broke the back French doors at a home on the 14300 block of Howard Road on Oct. 20 at about 3:35 p.m. The victim reported jewelry was stolen from a bedroom.

A victim told police that someone broke out the glass next to the front door at a residence on the 1700 block of Oakdale Drive at about 9:45 p.m. The suspect saw the victim standing at the top of the stairs and quietly left the residence, according to police.  The suspect was wearing dark clothes and entered a dark-colored vehicle that was parked on the street near the end of the driveway.

What was the race of the three men ? Thin build, medium height...that tells us nothing. Why don't you say if they were black, white or some other race?

Hi ECMom, it should have said that all three suspects were black men. I'm not sure what happened there but I'll edit it. Still, not very descriptive.
