Howard County police Friday announced they arrested two men who they believe may be responsible for burglaries across Howard County.
Police have been investigating residential burglaries in Ellicott City, Elkridge, Marriottsville, Clarksville and Sykesville since January. During the investigation, police learned that a witness reported seeing a gold Mazda Protégé in her driveway. She noted the license plate number and reported it to police.
Police say the information led them to 40-year-old Christopher Michael Kelly of Columbia and 29-year-old Luther Danny Davidson of West Friendship.
On March 14, police saw the Mazda in a driveway on the 3700 Block of Ligon Drive in Ellicott City. Police saw Davidson was in the driver's seat and Kelly got into the car before it drove off.
Police said the home that the Mazda was parked at had been burglarized; a white pillow case and prescription drugs were reported stolen.
Davidson and Kelly were arrested at a nearby gas station. Police said they found a handgun with a fully loaded magazine of hollow round points; a pillowcase with prescription pill bottles; a laptop computer; and several burglary tools.
The two are charged with multiple degrees of burglary and several weapons violations. Davidson is being held without bond at the Howard County Detention Center. Kelly is also at the detention center on $325,000.
Police are investigating links between the two men and other burglaries in Howard County.
