Police Arrest 12 at Ellicott City Sobriety Checkpoint

Police said six were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

 

A police checkpoint on Friday night in Ellicott City led to the arrest of 12 people.

The checkpoint took place on westbound Route 40 near Governors Run Way and extended into Saturday night.

Police arrested six drivers for driving under the influence of alcohol, three for drug violations and another three for driving on a suspended license.

A total of 998 drivers passed through the checkpoint, which was run by Howard County Police and Maryland State Police.
