Piping Theft on New Cut Floods Residence: Howard County Crime Reports

Ellicott City

Residential burglary

Someone broke into a vacant house in the 4000 block of New Cut Road and removed sections of copper plumbing from the basement sometime between June 4 and June 6. The removal of the piping caused flooding inside the house.

Someone entered an open garage in the 6200 block of Bird Race overnight on June 5 - 6, gained access to the home through an unlocked interior garage door and stole a watch, ring, cash and silverware.

Residential burglary

An apartment in the 5300 block of Brook Way was ransacked. A laptop, speakers, jewelry, a video game system and a checkbook were stolen sometime during the morning on June 6.

Residential burglary

Witnesses told police they saw two men with a crowbar trying to open the front door of a home in the 12200 block of Green Meadow Dr. around 7:30 p.m on June 5. Police did not find anyone inside and it's unknown if anything was stolen, although they did find pry marks on the door.

Burglary

A neighbor watched as two men entered an open garage and removed a bicycle around 9:20 p.m. on June 6 in the 7000 block of Water Oak. The neighbor then called police. Police confirmed the bicycle was stolen. Both men were described by police as black males, about 5-foot-9, wearing gray hooded sweatshirts.

Jessup

Burglary arrest

Five juveniles were arrested after they were spotted by police fleeing a vacant mobile home in the 8300 block of Peachwood Dr. around 7 p.m. on June 4. There was no damage found inside the residence and nothing was reported stolen, but the juveniles were charged with burglary.
