Hole Made in Bathroom Wall in Ellicott City Burglary: Howard County Crime Reports

Howard County crime reported between Nov. 4 and Nov. 13. All information was provided by the Howard County Police Department.

Commercial burglary

Police reported someone broke into an exterior bathroom and made a hole in the drywall behind the toilet to steal cash and coins from the Sunoco Gas Station in the 8400 block of Baltimore National Pike sometime overnight on Nov. 4.

Residential burglary

Someone stole two laptops and two desk lamps from a residence in the 5000 block of Waterloo Road after gaining entry through a rear door by breaking the chain lock during the morning of Nov. 11.

Commerical burglary - Envy Salon

Someone smashed a second-level rear sliding-glass door at Envy Salon in the 3700 block of Old Columbia Pike overnight on Nov. 5 - 6 and stole case from a register and safety cash box.

Robbery

A man reported he was with an acquaintance when he was robbed and assaulted by three men in the 6300 block of Windharp Way around 8:45 p.m. on Nov. 11. The three men took the man's pants, shoes, cell phone and wallet. The victim sustained minor injuries in the robbery, according to police. Police described all three suspects as black males, in their late teens, between 5-foot-8 and 6-foot, who were wearing all black clothing and black masks.

Breaking and entering - possible squatter

Police found a mattress and clothing on Nov. 11 inside an apartment that has been vacant since January 2013 in the 7500 block of Weather Worn Way. A neighbor reported a man walking into the apartment about three weeks ago. Police suspect the man is a squatter.

Residential burglary - game systems stolen

Someone is suspected of entering a residence in the 6000 block of Watch Chain Way through an unlocked rear basement sliding door during the day on Nov. 4 and stealing two electronic gaming systems, video games, a pair of sneakers and headphones.

Residential burglary

Gaming equipment was reported stolen from a residence in the 9600 block of Basket Ring Road on Nov. 4. Police found that a front door was locked between 4 and 6:30 p.m.

Commercial burglary - Shell

Someone used a rock to smash a garage door window at the Shell station in the 7200 block of Cradlerock Way. Inside, multiple packs of individual cigarettes were stolen around 3 a.m. on Nov. 8.

Robbery - BP Gas Station

A man armed with a handgun robbed the Bp Gas Station in the 8800 block of Washington Blvd. around 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 10. The man entered the station, demanded money from the register and when he received it fled on foot toward the Comfort Inn. Police described the suspect as a white male, about 6-foot-3, 175 pounds, wearing a black hoodie, blue jeans, and a gray scarf over his face.

Construction site burglary

Approximately 20 spools of copper wire were reported stolen from a construction site in the 7500 block of Hearthside Way sometime between Nov. 1 and Nov. 4. Police did not find any signs of forced entry.

North Laurel

Robbery - home invasion

Three masked men broke into a residence through a basement glass sliding door in the 9300 block of Decatur Road and held four people inside at gunpoint around 2:20 p.m. on Nov. 7. One of the people inside the residence was assaulted by two of the masked men and had money and personal property stolen. The three masked men fled out the basement door. The man who was assaulted was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police reported the house was targeted and that they do not believe this was a random act. Police described the suspects as three males, wearing dark-colored clothing and masks.

Robbery

A person attempting to collect a financial debt from an acquaintance in the 8900 block of Pembrook Woods was invited into the acquaintance's car around 10:45 p.m. on Nov. 8. At that time, the acquaintance pulled a gun on the person and demanded cash and the person's cell phone. Afterwards, the acquaintance left and the victim returned home to call police.
