Indecent Exposure and Five Robberies: Howard County Crime Roundup

The following information was supplied by the Howard County Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Ellicott City: Break-In

Between 2:30 p.m. on Aug. 18 and 4 p.m. the following day, an unknown number of suspects pried open a storm door of a residence on the 4000 block of College Avenue and broke window to the main door. Suspects entered the residence and stole a television and a computer.

Between July 30 and Aug. 20, an unknown number of suspects entered a residence on the 8800 block of Papillon Drive, stealing two laptops, two gaming systems, controllers and money. Police listed the incident as a “catburglary” and said there was no sign of forced entry.

Shortly after 6:30 a.m. on Aug. 19, an unknown number of suspects entered a rear window of a residence on the 5600 block of Trotter Road and stole a purse containing credit cards, a cell phone and a checkbook. Police listed the incident as a “catburglary.”

Elkridge: Commercial Break-In

Between 4 p.m. on Aug. 18 and 6 a.m. the following day, an unknown number of suspects entered an unfinished building at Windsor Electric, on the 6500 block of Meadowridge Road, cutting into a toolbox and a shed inside the building, stealing two spools of aluminum cable.

Elkridge: Break-In Attempt

At 11:30 p.m. on Aug. 20, a known suspect attempted to break into a residence on the 6700 block of Ducketts Lane. Arriving officers arrested the suspect.

Elkridge: Robbery

At 2:30 a.m. on Aug. 21, three suspects approached two juveniles near the 5800 block of Whisper Way, displayed a handgun and stole their cell phones.

Columbia: Robbery

Shortly before 2:30 a.m. on Aug. 21, police units responded to a theft in progress on the 6200 block of Deep Earth Lane. A victim said an acquaintance approached her and demanded money, but the victim had no money so the suspect took a gym bag and fled in a vehicle. Officers located the vehicle and arrested the suspect along with the driver.

Columbia: Robbery

Shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 19, two suspects approached a victim near the 8900 block of Footed Ridge, struck him and stole money, a cell phone and ID card.

At 9:45 p.m. on Aug. 19, two unknown suspects approached a victim and witness in a parking lot on the 6000 block of Stevens Forest Road, struck the victim with a handgun. Police reported that nothing was stolen.

Columbia: Robbery

At 1:45 a.m. on Aug. 22, four suspects surrounded a victim and three friends in a parking lot on the 7200 block of Eden Brook Drive, punching the victim and taking the victims keys and demanding cash. The victim complied and the suspects threw the keys and fled toward a footpath.

Columbia: Break-In

Between Aug. 19 and Aug. 22, an unknown number of suspects used a chair to climb from a lower apartment on the 5000 block of Columbia Road to the balcony of a third floor apartment, stealing two mountain bikes.

Shortly before 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 22, an unknown number of suspects a garage of a residence on the 10200 block of Brighton Ridge Way and stole a bicycle.

Columbia: Indecent Exposure

Shortly before 12:30 p.m. on Aug. 20, two citizens confronted a nude male near a wooded area on Old Guilford Road and the suspect fled on foot. Another citizen pursued the suspect with a bike and held him until police arrived. Officers arrested the suspect, who is a male from Fulton.

Savage: Break-In

At 12:30 p.m. on Aug. 22, an unknown number of suspects broke into an apartment on the 10000 block of Washington Boulevard, stealing money.
