Ellicott City Woman Arrested: Howard County Crime Roundup

COMPILED FROM THE DAILY POLICE BULLETIN... DORSEY'S SEARCH: BREAK-IN (WITH ARREST)

An Ellicott City woman was arrested following a domestic-related break-in on the 5300 block of Columbia Road, according to Howard County police.

Mindy Beth Riddick, 32, of 4907 Lee Farm Court, has been charged with first-, second-, third- and fourth-degree burglary, malicious destruction of property valued at more than $500, malicious destruction of property valued at less than $500, and second-degree assault, according to court records.

She has a court date scheduled for March 4. She also has a court date scheduled for March 1 for a hearing concerning a peace order that was issued against her on the day following her arrest.

The alleged break-in happened at about 9:43 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 20.

ELLICOTT CITY: BREAK-IN, VANDALISM

Golf carts were damaged after a break-in at the Turf Valley resort on the 2700 block of Turf Valley Road. The suspect or suspects entered through an unlocked window. The break-in happened sometime between 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 18, and 7:50 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 19.

ELLICOTT CITY: BREAK-IN/VANDALISM

Property was damaged after a break-in at Tower Federal Credit Union on the 8400 block of Baltimore National Pike. The suspect or suspects entered and disabled an alarm, but nothing was reported stolen. The break-in was reported at 11:05 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 21.

ELLICOTT CITY: BREAK-IN ATTEMPT

Nothing was taken following an attempted break-in on the 2600 block of Kidwell Place. The suspect or suspects tried to enter by using a rock to shatter a rear basement sliding glass door, but the glass largely remained intact. The attempted break-in happened sometime between 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 17, and 1:15 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 20.

TOWN CENTER: BURGLARY (WITH ARREST)

A Columbia woman was arrested following a domestic-related burglary on the 10700 block of Symphony Way, according to Howard County police.

Mi Yi Yu, 30, of 10720 Symphony Way, has been charged with fourth-degree burglary, malicious destruction of property valued at less than $500, and disorderly conduct, according to court documents.

The incident happened at about 1:22 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 18. Yu is due in court on May 4.

HARPER'S CHOICE: BURGLARY

A laptop was stolen following a burglary at an apartment on the 5200 block of Rivendell Lane. The burglary happened sometime between 9:45 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 18, and 2:40 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 19. No other information was available.

OAKLAND MILLS: BURGLARY

A laptop, a camera and textbooks were stolen following a burglary on the 9300 block of Pilar Court. The suspect or suspects entered after breaking a rear bedroom window. The burglary happened sometime between 9:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 19.

OAKLAND MILLS: BREAK-IN

Nothing was taken following a break-in on the 6400 block of Autumn Gold Court. The suspect or suspects entered the residence – a vacant townhouse – through a sliding rear door. Police believe the home might have been used as a party house. The break-in happened sometime between 9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 18, and 4:44 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 19.

OAKLAND MILLS: BREAK-IN

Nothing was taken following an attempted break-in on the 9300 block of Farewell Road. The suspect or suspects tried to entered by cutting a rear window screen. The attempted break-in happened sometime between 12:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 20.

JESSUP: BURGLARY

Catalytic converters were stolen following a burglary at Europarts Express on the 7400 block of Montevideo Road. The suspect or suspects entered through a rear window. The burglary happened sometime between 5:50 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 18, and 9 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 19.

ELKRIDGE: BURGLARY

Equipment was stolen from a shed on the 8000 block of Keeton Road. The suspect or suspects pried the shed open. The burglary happened sometime between 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 16, and 1:08 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 19.

ELKRIDGE: BREAK-IN (WITH ARREST)

An Elkridge man was arrested following break-ins on the 6100 block of Rainbow Drive, according to Howard County police.

Steven Alphonso Ralph Williams, 18, of 6820 Guest Call, has been charged with fourth-degree burglary, according to court documents.

Officers were called to Rainbow Drive for reports of a suspicious person. Upon arriving, they saw Williams allegedly standing next to a shed that had been opened. Police say they then saw a second shed on the property had its lock removed, and they arrested Williams.

He has a court date scheduled for April 21.

WOODBINE: BURGLARY

Jewelry, cash and coins were stolen following a burglary on the 900 block of Old Woodbine Road. The suspect or suspects entered through a rear window and ransacked the residence. The burglary happened sometime between 7:30 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 20.

ELLICOTT CITY, JESSUP, LAUREL: VEHICLE THEFTS

- Ellicott City: A silver Honda was stolen from O'Donnell Honda on the 8600 block of Baltimore National Pike. It was reported stolen at 8:35 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 18.

- Jessup: A truck was stolen from Penske Truck Rental on the 8600 block of Washington Boulevard. It was reported stolen at 9:29 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 18.

Jessup: A GMC was stolen from the 7400 block of Assateague Drive. It was reported stolen at 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 22.

- Laurel: A 2006 Mercedes with Maryland license plate 386M024 was stolen from the 9000 block of Gorman Road. It was reported stolen at 11 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 18.
