Ellicott City Man Sentenced for Church, Preschool Burglaries

A Howard County judge gave Craig Nathaniel Webster the option of serving his sentence in a drug/alcohol treatment center.

An Ellicott City man can spend his jail sentence in a drug/alcohol treatment center after he pleaded guilty to burglaries at a local childcare center and a church, according to the Howard County State’s Attorney’s Office.

Prosecutors said Craig Nathaniel Webster, 47, broke into and the , both in Ellicott City, last year.

when drug store video surveillance footage showed him using a credit card that had been reported stolen from La Petite Academy.

During a search of Webster’s house, that had been stolen from Bethel Korean Church and a camera stolen from La Petite Academy.

In Howard County Circuit Court on Thursday, Judge Louis A. Becker III sentenced Webster to 15 years for burglary at La Petite Academy and 10 years for burglary at the church, according to a statement from the State’s Attorney’s Office. Webster was also sentenced to five years of supervised probation after his release.

Becker suspended all but 18 months of the sentence and ordered that Webster could spend the remainder in a residential drug/alcohol treatment program, according to the statement.
