Ellicott City Man Faces Federal Charges After Failed Undercover Police Sting

An incident from November of last year has an Ellicott City man heading to federal court.

An Ellicott City man faces federal weapons and robbery charges in connection with an armed robbery in Columbia, according to the Baltimore Sun.

A Savage teenager and an accused gang member from Columbia, also face charges in connection with the robbery.

On Nov. 8 of last year, Howard County Police responded to According to the Sun, the incident was a failed undercover police sting targeting Michael Dominique Johnson, 19, of Columbia.

Bryan Alexander Mays, 24, of Ellicott City faces federal robbery and weapons charges.

Johnson, a suspected Bloods gang member who is known by the name "Bloody Mike," faces federal assault and robbery charges, reports the Sun. 

Matthew Walters, 16, of Savage, faces state charges as an adult for robbery and gun possession.

Shortly before 4 p.m. on Nov. 8, two unknown male suspects approached a victim in a parking lot on the 9700 block of Clocktower Lane, displayed a gun and robbed the victim.
